My Overall Growth Within My First Semester Essay - 1543 Words

This paper will address my overall growth within my first semester. The experience I have encountered at Shippensburg has been so unreal. Everyday I think to myself â€Å"like wow I’m really in college I was just in high school†. I remember my first day at Shippensburg like it was yesterday the anxiety, the anxiousness all of it. I’ve been waiting to go to college since my first day of school and that time finally came. The week of me packing all my stuff and going school shopping all I could think about is how â€Å"free† I’ll finally be and I’ll finally be on my way to learning about my future career. I knew college would be fun and for my expectations to be fulfilled. I always thought college would be how it would be when I would watching certain Tv shows and movies about it. It was false advertising to me because college is honestly what you make it. The day I moved onto campus I felt a new chapter opening in my life. I did feel a little sad about leaving all my family and friends In Philadelphia. I’ve never been away from my family for a long period of time and especially since where I live is two hours and thirty minutes away from Shippensburg. One thing I was really scared about was being home sick and not being able to adjust like I thought I would. I do miss my family but not to the point that I have to go home every weekend.
